To stay focused, it is important to have clear goals in mind and not get discouraged by losses or gains. It is also vital to choose the proper stakes and game variations for your bankroll and find the most profitable games to play.<\/p>\n<p>Before dealing cards, each player must place an ante into the pot (a mandatory bet made by two players to the left of the dealer). Once all players have their 2 hole cards, a round of betting takes place.<\/p>\n<p>The main goal of poker is to form a high-ranking hand based on the card rankings. This will enable you to win the pot at the end of each betting round.
